History

We began in 2006 in Thailand, coaching sport in an orphanage, in a juvenile prison and on the streets of Bangkok. Then we moved to Sri Lanka and began to build a relationship with the pastors and project team of a Church. Nepal followed, with an ongoing partnership with Padma Kanya School in Kathmandu, before we embarked on a new collaboration in Rwanda with Acts of Gratitude and The Montfort Secondary School. Our most recent project is in northern Greece, where we are implementing the Inspire programme with a group of unaccompanied minors from Afghanistan.

Our Philosophy

Very briefly.   Viktor Frankl, in ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’, proposed that we always have choice in this life. We may not be able to control the world around us, but we can choose how to react.  We can choose to react with our animal nature - with anger, hate, violence - or we can seek to act from another part of our nature. We can choose to respond with love, compassion and kindness.  Which path we choose depends a great deal on how we have been raised and educated.  We seek to help educate children and  young people  to  build a world based more on that ‘higher path’. 

Who are we?

The individuals and teams who have worked on the projects have come from a variety of backgrounds. Right now, we focus on leadership development using sport as the learning vehicle. Sports coaches, cricket, football and rugby players, leadership facilitators.....but we have also had individuals who have helped wth English classes and building projects. As the charity develops, we will be building new relationships and beginning new projects - focusing on providing opportunities for the development of leadership, compassion, citizenship and kindness in young people....and their teachers,
